Whilst holidaying in Scotland, Brian, Tracy and Ben Shaw attended the Sunrise celebrations at Meggernie Scout and Activity Centre in Glen Lyon, Scotland. The event was attended by scouts and explorers from all over Scotland with the three of us and Pat Lord (ADC Fellowship) being the only English scouts to participate and gain the ‘Lyon Rampant’ necker. The camp wardens are Rab and Judith, who, as well as being daughter and son-in-law of Pat, have visited Hyndburn scouts at district headquarters in previous years. The Sunrise event was the highlight of a week long camp and involved a climb up into the hills above the camp at 3.30am to watch the sunrise with the renewal of the promise after breakfast at 8am.
